UFC is returning to Manchester, England on Saturday 26th October with the headlining event featuring Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida against Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz.
UFC Fight Night 30 is set to be eventful one as former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida competes in the middleweight division for the first time. Michael Bisping was the original fighter on the card but withdrew due to injury and Machida has stepped in to the bout with friend and training partner Mark Munoz. Both men will be looking for victory to give them a chance to compete for the middleweight title.
Lyoto Machida is a strong opponent and due to his fighting style is difficult to land many punches on. But since losing the light heavyweight title, consistency has been an issue. The fresh start in a new division gives him an opportunity to begin confidently and be more aggressive as he lands punches accurately but not as many as he should.
Munoz has a never-say-die attitude about him and will look to take the fight to the mat. That is something he is capable of when looking at his take-down averages (9.63) and his subsequent barrage of “Donkey Kong Punches” will be a threat to Machida. That ability could be especially significant in fight as Machida will be looking to land his strikes.
The event will also feature a bout between Ultimate Fighters Melvin Guillard and Ross Pearson. Below are live streams for UFC Fight Night 30.
