Celebs, we love ’em. And their mistakes. All over Tinsel Town and, let’s face it, the arse end of the world, there’s celebs being rather cheeky (some may say not clever enough) and getting busted for all sorts of illegal reasons. Here we count down our Top 10 celebrity drug busts with some true surprises, amongst the obvious contenders, thrown in, complete with their ugly mug shots too.
1) Sky Ferreira
Singer and model is facing prison charges after she was arrested alongside with boyfriend, Zachary Cole Smith who models for Saint Laurent, for possession of heroin and ecstasy. The police inspected Mr Smith’s vehicle which was supposedly without a license and in possession of an unregistered Ford pickup truck with not only stolen plates but also without insurance. After searching the Ford they found a plastic bag with 42 decks of heroin inside. Miss Ferreira was arrested (after some resistance) for having ecstasy on her person. Both were released on bail after charging Mr Smith with $2,500 and Miss Ferreira with $1,500.
2) Robert Downey Jr
Iron Man star has admitted to having a problem with drugs since he was eight. On the 23rd June 1996, he was arrested for drunk driving, possession of heroin, and carrying a weapon and as a result was sentenced to three years probation. However, it did not end there, on the 8th December 1997, he was sentenced to six months in jail for skipping a court-ordered drug test and had to serve four months in prison. In 1999, Downey violated the terms of his parole and was sentenced the three years. Three months later, on the 25th November 2000, he was once again arrested for being in possession of cocaine and Valium and for being under the influence of coke and meth.
3) Nicole Richie
In 2003, Richie was arrested for being in the possession of heroin. She managed to wiggle out of the charges but then in December 2011, she was once again arrested when she was caught driving her Mercedes the wrong way on an L.A. freeway exit ramp whilst being under the influence of Vicodin and marijuana.
4) Charlie Sheen
Being the most well-known druggie on this list, Mr Sheen on average spends $2,000 a day for drugs and $25,000 for escorts, such a healthy lifestyle! It got the better of him on the 27th January 2011 as he was rushed to the hospital to be treated for drugs.
5) Lindsay Lohan
In January 2007 Li-Lo checked herself into rehab, where she stayed for 30 days, which didn’t last long as she was back in May for 45 days. A few months later she was caught out with that coke hidden down her trousers.
6) Steve-O Jackass
Jackass star was arrested in 2003 after admitting that he had shoved up his ass a condom stuffed with weed as he smuggled it into Sweden, which is pretty hilarious! Someone must have given him another dose of truth serum as later that year he pleaded guilty for possession of cocaine.
7) Amy Winehouse
The Rehab star (both musically and literally) was arrested in 2007 for possession of seven grams of marijuana along with her husband who were later released with a fine of $800. Winehouse was arrested once again the following year under the suspicion of possessing drugs as a result of the release of a video which captured her allegedly smoking crack cocaine.
8) Bruno Mars
After a bathroom attendant at The Hard Rock Café in Las Vegas reported him to be “drug dabbling” the police found him to have nearly three grams of cocaine on his person. He received a $2000 fine and 200 hours of community service.
9) Lil Wayne
Police found a cocktail of drugs and handguns on his tour bus whilst Lil Wayne was touring in Arizona in 2008. The Yuma County attorney filed one count each of felony possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.
10) Craig Robinson
The police found drugs, including ecstasy and meth, inside the actor’s car, he was also under the influence of cocaine, amphetamines and cannabinoids at the time.
11) Tulisa
She was revealed to be an ex dealer after an audio recording of her bragging about her best friend being a reliable supplier of “white and green sweets” on in English…cocaine and marijuana.
12) Kate Moss
Famous model was photographed snorting cocaine at a Babyshambles recording session which saw her model-reputation plummet. She was dropped by seven different companies including Chanel, Burberry and H&M.
