Guinness adjudicators were certainly impressed when Stephen Taylor entered himself in for the ‘World’s Longest Tongue’ back in 2009, but the fact that it has continued to grow over the years is something even scientists can’t quite put their finger on. His tongue has been measured at 3.8 inches (9.8cm). Stephen boasts that ‘I can actually get it to 10cm with a push, but that’s a bit painful’ according to the Metro. This already enormous tongue has in fact grown 0.2 inches since he was first entered which makes it possible that it will continue to grow throughout Stephen’s life.
Quite a daunting thought for Stephen, a teaching graduate from Coventry. Who must find it difficult to teach with a mouth full of tongue which has caused him to develop a lisp.
However, his tongue has not only made him a star in the Guinness World Records, but as a result managed to bag himself a 10 second kiss with actress Brigitte Nielsen in front of a live television audience in Italy. Brigitte was said to be lost for words after a tongue-tastic game of tonsil tennis with the world record holder. Her husband was not so impressed.
This tongue legend also got to meet Gene Simmons from the rock band Kiss. Simmons is known for his large tongue which he stuck out to form his signature pose whilst the band where together and was put to shame when they were introduced. Even Miley Cyrus’s crazy tongue would be given a run for her money next to Mr Taylor’s.
So Stephen? She sells seashells by the seashore. The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I’m sure she sells seashores shells.
