online datingAnyone who’s tried internet dating knows the biggest peril involved is arranging to meet someone who looks hot and sexy in their photo, only to discover they look like a female Brian Blessed in the flesh. It’s a pain BBM is all too familiar with – if by the phrase “internet dating” you actually mean “high-class brothels”.
But who do you go to in such an event? The trades-description people? Well one shameless bloke in Solihull went one step further than that last month and called the police. Problem was, it wasn’t a dating website he was unhappy with – it was a prostitute.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, bluntly told the working girl she was not the Pretty Woman he’d been hoping for when she turned up to meet him outside a hotel.
When she responded by angrily grabbing his car keys, he reported her for breaching the Sale of Goods Act.
Emergency operators listened as he bitterly complained she had misled him about her looks.
“It was unbelievable,” said Sgt Jerome Moran. “He believed he had done nothing wrong and that the woman should have been investigated by police for misrepresentation.”
In an unusual step, police released the tape of his initial call to ‘highlight regular abuse’ of the 999 number.
In the recording, the man says the prostitute “got her knickers in a twist” when he backed out of their deal. He adds: “Beforehand I have asked for a description of her – give me an honest description otherwise when I get there I’m not going to use your services. She’s mis-described and misrepresented herself totally. She was angry – she thinks I owe her a living or something.”
It’s hard to imagine why such a charming guy can only get women by paying for them.
