DanielMetzgarBBM knows all too well the embarrassment involved in getting an erection at an inappropriate time. It happened to us once when we were in a police line-up for a stalking case involving Cheryl Cole (there’s something about knowing she’s behind the two-way mirror that just turns us on).
And like all men, we learnt all the tricks involved in hiding a bride frightener at an early age. Whether it’s tucking it up under your belt, pretending to look for something in your bag on your lap or, our personal favourite, ducking behind the bushes in Cheryl Cole’s back garden.
But, of course, there’s only so long you can get away with it and for 44-year-old Daniel Metzgar, from New Jersey, that was the problem. According to Metzgar, a botched penile implant he had in 2009 left him with an eight-month flesh rocket that wouldn’t go down.
The truck driver is seeking unspecified damages after he was forced to wear baggy trousers and long shirts to hide the problem, a court heard. On the plus side, his wife hasn’t complained once in eight months.
“I could hardly dance, with an erection poking my partner,” he told the court. “It’s not something you want to bring out at parties and show to friends.”
Which, of course, depends entirely on the kind of parties you get invited too. We’re sure there are a few swingers in his neighbourhood who would be thrilled if he showed them.
Metzgar said he knew something was wrong when his scrotum swelled to the size of a volleyball but didn’t see his surgeon for another four months – presumably because his wife told him not too.
