Visit Pig Island in the Caribbean to truly tick off your ultimate travel bucket list!

The likes of Johnny Depp, Nicholas Cage and David Copperfield have all staked claims to their own little pieces of paradise in the Exuma Cays, but the easy life in this island chain in The Bahamas isn’t just for film stars. Some less well-known fellows can be spotted frolicking on the beaches and basking in the shallows, as happy as pigs in … seawater!
Found in the Exumas a couple of years ago by photographer and ocean guide, Jim Abernethy, on a small island called Big Major Cay, Pig Beach is home to a few dozen friendly pigs who relish welcoming tourists to their own island. Yes, Pig Island has also been coined.
With a fresh, natural water spring and sheltered by a string of neighbouring islands, Pig beach is perfectly blanketed from tropical storms. Living the high life in the beautiful Bahamas, eating, sleeping and swimming, this little family have become perfectly adapted to their beach bum lifestyle.

If this tickles your trotters then head to Pig Island yourself, because thats just one more reason to head to the Caribbean right?
