For the last three months, four very dedicated football fans have been walking to the Fifa World Cup in order to raise money for the J De V Arts Trust. Their commitment to the cause is testament of their love for football and giving something back to the country that’s hosting the long-awaited games.
The 12th of June will see the start to the 2014 Fifa World Cup and the four boys will be right there watching the games. Adam, David, Pete, Ben and Jefferson, (their famous stray dog), have walked through unrelenting heat, down live train lines, and crossed the Brazilian border all on-foot to reach the World Cup. They’ve still got their England kit and tickets to most of the games, which means they will be keeping us up-to-date on what’s happening in Brazil.
The boys and Jefferson have had a long journey but it has all been done for a good cause. The money they’ve raised has already started the construction of a water well by the J de V Arts Trust, and will contribute to help alleviate the suffering caused by the drought in Brazil. It’s surreal how a conversation over drinks one night can turn into a life-changing journey with football at the core of it.
