The Chaser’s Royal Wedding coverage has been stopped short after the rights to use the footage were denied by the office of the Prince of Wales.
The team had proposed an all encompassing coverage of “every toff” and “every silly hat” but it is not to be.
Chaser member Julian Morrow said he was glad that such uninformed and unconstitutional coverage had been denied the ABC and the Australian people.
The ABC had negotiated to use coverage for a more conventional broadcast and for The Chaser team to use for their own commentary.
The Chaser’s show was much anticipated and advertised on the ABC. Fans have voiced their disappointment.
The Chaser ban was made by the Prince of Wales’ office, Clarence House.
