Conor McGregor Has Claimed His UFC Comeback

Conor McGregor has claimed that his UFC comeback against Michael Chandler is “all systems go” for this summer, just days after hitting out at the promotion.

Conor McGregor has eased fears around his comeback fight with Michael Chandler, posting a series of sparring videos on social media. Fans began to fear on Monday (3 June) that the UFC 303 main event might not go ahead on 29 June, after a pre-fight press conference was cancelled on short notice.

In the days since, both fighters have shared cryptic posts on social media, with Chandler suggesting that he had left his training camp, and McGregor posting a photo of himself on a treatment table.

McGregor has not fought since July 2021, when he suffered a broken leg against Dustin Poirier, and his planned return against Chandler has faced numerous delays since its announcement in February 2023. McGregor, 35, promotes the remake of Road House, which stars the Irishman and will be released on Amazon Prime on Thursday (21 March). During a string of media appearances relating to the film, the former dual-weight champion has criticised the UFC over a “lack of transparency” around his return – but McGregor has now shared “great news”.

“We got confirmation a few days ago that it’s all systems go, and ‘The Mac’, ‘The Notorious’ will be returning to the UFC Octagon this summer,” McGregor told ESPN on Tuesday (19 March).

McGregor also confirmed that Chandler would be his next opponent, adding: “Shut up, Michael, you f***ing imbecile. The man doesn’t shut up. I saw him on [WWE] Raw. “I like Mike, [but] I’m going to bust him up. I’m going to bust Mike up, yeah? If I say it, I do it. If I say it, it gets done. End of. Put that on my [grave]stone.” McGregor said, however, that no weight class has been decided for the fight with Chandler.

In 2016, McGregor became the first dual-weight UFC champion by winning the lightweight title a year after taking the featherweight belt. The Irishman has also fought at welterweight three times in the UFC, and while McGregor previously claimed that he could face Chandler at middleweight, he backtracked on that idea in his interview with ESPN.

“Come a little closer … and the opponent is Michael Chandler. And the weight, Mr Chandler, 185 pounds (84kg).”

Conor McGregor Has Claimed His UFC Comeback

article below: Conor McGregor has claimed that his UFC comeback against Michael Chandler is “all systems go” for this summer, just days after hitting out at the promotion.

Conor McGregor has teased a potential blockbuster announcement ahead of UFC 300’s pre-fight press conference this week.

It’s officially UFC 300 fight week as the promotion’s historic event goes down on Saturday from Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.

Three massive title bouts feature on the stacked card, including Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill, Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan as well as the BMF showdown between Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway.

Fans have reacted with deep concern about an interview conducted by UFC legend Conor McGregor promoting his new movie.

The 35-year-old McGregor has a part in a remake of the 1989 Patrick Swayze classic Road House alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.

The Pair has been busy promoting the movie, and it’s an interview the pair did with Sports Illustrated that has set off the worries McGregor.

You can read below what McGregor said in parts of the interview when he repeated himself and appeared to stick to a couple of rehearsed comments.

But of more significant concern were the mannerisms you can see in the clip above: constantly shrugging his shoulders, stuttering, blinking repeatedly and sometimes struggling to get his words out.

McGregor was asked about Gyllenhaal’s ability to show realism as a fighter in the movie, to which he replied: “Jake’s a consummate professional, 75 films made, you know, I’m blessed to have entered into the movie alongside him.

“He was patient with me, guided me, and I just took it.

“We had a good rapport on set; he has 75 movies made, I have 75 barfights made, and that’s was it; we had some good back and forth.”

Gyllenhaal seemed totally unperturbed by McGregor’s state, laughing and joking with the UFC veteran, recalling how he had to tell the Irishman not to take the fight scenes too seriously.

“Sometimes I had to remind him,” Gyllenhaal said.

“I landed one punch, and he hit me with a door,” McGregor replied. “Other than that, it was perfect.

“Amazing stunt team. They were phenomenal with us, they gave us free rein, and we’ve done a good job.”

The interviewer also asked McGregor about any difficulties he experienced with the fight scenes.

“For me, what was hard was that it was time-consuming. I had 18 hours on set and very little rest, and it was strange to me,” he managed to get out.

“But the fight scenes, I was happy to give my input, my all, and Jake, as I said, is a consummate professional.

“We’ve done a good job.”

The outpouring was intense on social media after fans saw the video featuring the fighter, who holds a 22-6 record and is a former two-division UFC champion but hasn’t fought since 2021.

“This is very sad to see,” was one comment. “Always wished the best for Conor for the years of entertainment he gave us.”

“This is legitimately sad, I hope he gets the help he needs,” wrote another.

“We will probably never see Conor in a fight again,” added another.

“That was disturbing to watch,” wrote a fourth.

McGregor has been out of action since July 2021, when he broke his leg in round one against Dustin Poirier, losing his second straight fight to the American.

After years out of the sport and among several mooted fights that never materialised, McGregor finally announced on January 1 that he would make his UFC return on June 29 against Michael Chandler.

Holding a glass of red wine, McGregor said: “Ladies and gentlemen, a happy New Year to you all.

“I’d like to announce the return date for myself, ‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor, for the most remarkable comeback of all time will take place in Las Vegas for International Fight Week on June 29.

“Come a little closer … and the opponent is Michael Chandler. And the weight, Mr Chandler, 185 pounds (84kg).”

Mike Tyson nah nah (Mike Perry) Vs Jake Paul

Well it was to good to be true…

Jake Paul will face another fighter from the world of MMA.

Paul and Perry will compete in an eight-round cruiserweight bout at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on the same day that Paul was previously scheduled to fight Mike Tyson. That bout was moved to November 15 due to a health issue for Tyson stemming from an ulcer.

Perry has been calling for a fight with Paul for quite some time and has been competing in bare-knuckle boxing since he left the UFC. Paul had voiced his eagerness to fight sooner than November and it came to fruition.

 Fight Postponement! (more like disappointment)

Meanwhile, the last time Tyson, 57, fought was in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, scored as a draw.

However, Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions announced the postponement on Friday (31 May) saying that Tyson’s ulcer flare-up will prevent him from training properly in the lead up to the fight.

“Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level,” the statement read.

“The health and well-being of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself.”

UFC Legend Chael Sonnen Accuses Mike Tyson of Faking Workout Video for Jake Paul Fight

Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul. Former UFC middleweight contender Chael Sonnen took to social media Wednesday to take a shot at former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson to accuse him of faking a recent training video to promote his upcoming boxing match against Jake Paul.

To promote the bout, the 57-year-old Tyson posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) of him hitting the mitts with a caption reading, “It’s Day 1 … the fun has just begun.”

But Sonnen isn’t buying it. He accused the boxing legend of faking the workout.

“In the future, if you’re ever going to spend five seconds hitting mitts, as a way of making the audience believe you’re doing a training session, make sure you splash water on your face and T-shirt first,” Sonnen wrote on X. Sonnen noticed Tyson wasn’t sweating at all in the video, so he took that to mean the video wasn’t genuine.

Nevertheless, the boxing legend will face Paul on July 20 in Arlington, Texas, with the bout scheduled to be televised on Netflix.

American former undisputed Heavyweight World Champion VS Internet celebrity and ‘professional boxer’

Article by Ruby Shakir

Mike Tyson reentering the scene in bizarre Heavyweight professional boxing match against American YouTuber Jake Paul.

This is sure to be an unforgettable fight to say the least. Jake Paul (9-1, 6 kOs) has stated he wants to focus on fighting real boxers to eventually compete for a world title. But for now he aims to fight long retired Mike Tyson (56-6, 44 KOs), a former heavyweight champion and one of the best boxers in history. The match is set to take place on the July 20th making it so Tyson will be 58 and Paul being a mere 27 years old.

As I assume many people are thinking this has to be a joke there is no way in reality Jake Paul is seriously fighting Mike Tyson, but its happening and people don’t seem to doubtful about the out comes. I personally have a feeling the YouTuber is using this as clout and publicity, then again he has done a 180 career change and seems pretty serious about this fight.

“Its crazy to think that in my second pro fight i went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson undercard,” Paul said in a statment. “now less then 4 years later, i’m stepping up to face Tyson my self to see if i have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons. Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world — a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.”

Mike and Jake at 15

‘Mike Tyson has already predicted the exact outcome of his showdown with Jake Paul, two years before it was signed’

“It will be so f**king easy,” Tyson replied when asked how a fight would play out two years ago.

“Jake’s punches you can see coming from a mile away, you can see that coming a mile away. I’m 5’5, I can see that coming a mile away,” Tyson added. “I would beat these f***ers [Jake and Logan Paul]. I’d go straight at them, there would be no boxing.

“The only thing I got to do is be in shape. 30 days of boxing training every day and I can fight anyone.
“If I’m boxing every day I wouldn’t even have to worry about diet.”
The fight will likely be able to be stopped by the referee, but it is unclear if the clash will be scored by judges.
