Trust the Yanks to come up with a burger not even Homer Simpson could get his jaws around… Say HELLO to the ‘Absolutely Ridiculous’ burger created by Jason Jones at Michigan’s Mallie’s Sports Grill & Bar.
Weighing in at 338lb, this leviathan of the snack food kingdom comprises 15 pounds of lettuce, 30 pounds of bacon, 30 pounds of tomatoes and 36 pounds of cheese and comes at a cost of $2000 – with a drink and fries, of course.
The burger, which contains 540,000 calories and takes 22 hours to cook, was created in an attempt to break the restaurant’s own world record for a 134lb patty which took the title away from a bunch of Thai cooks in 2008.
The monster meal caused a sensation when it was unveiled to the Detroit Daily News in October and the YouTube site, ‘Man v. Food – Making the Absolutely Ridiculous Burger’ has already received over 180,000 hits.
No videos of anyone attempting to eat it though – a new challenge for the Jackass boys? Steve O’s Pops could definitely handle it – or maybe the lads could blend it up and snort it like that Wasabi? Ahhh… America.
