Man City 2-1 Chelsea: The Return of TevezWouldn’t it have been so much better if Carlos Tevez had refused to come off the subs bench again? Just to make a point.

Unfortunately for Chelsea, everyone’s least favourite substitute did come off the bench to provide the assist for Samir Nasri’s winner, as they lost 2-1 to Man City at the Etihad stadium.

Nasri’s goal followed Sergio Aguero’s penalty to snatch victory away from Chelsea – who lead early on thanks to Gary Cahill’s deflected shot – and resuscitated their apparent decline in the race for the Premiership title with Man Utd.

The return of Tevez left Man City fans unsure whether to boo or cheer – so they did both. They’ll now be hoping they can enjoy Tevez for the final games of the season, as he’s on his best behaviour in the hope of securing a move away – while everyone else looks forward to the next Tevez meltdown.

As for Chelsea, they fell further away from the final Champions League spot, sitting 5 points behind Arsenal in 5th place.

Chelsea manager John Ter… uh, I mean, Roberto Di Matteo remains confident of securing 4th place, saying: “Are we confident of making the Champions League?. Absolutely. We still believe and we still have confidence we can make it.”

Well, good luck with that.
