There’s no doubt it’s been a fantastic season for Leicester City fans, no matter where they end up in the league. Usually content with a 17th-place finish, which automatically qualifies them for the crown of ‘Best team in the East Midlands’, they have defied the experts to become genuine title challengers this year.
And when it comes to tales of beating the odds, one Leicester fan in particular is hoping for a fairytale finish – after putting £5 on them at the start of the season to win the league at odds of 5000-1.
Carpenter Leigh Herbert backed the Foxes, reasoning that their strong finish to last season coupled with the appointment of Claudio Ranieri as manager made them worth a punt.
And with the finish line in sight, he’s taken the brave decision to not “cash out” with William Hill after turning down their offer of £3,200.
“I am going to hang in there,” said the 39-year-old. “I believe in fairy tales and £25,000 will be a life changing win.”
Good luck mate!
