Philadelphia Union FC have come up with one of the oddest job opportunities we’ve seen in professional football (Joe Kinnear’s entire career notwithstanding) after putting out a job ad for a tattoo artist. Not just any old tattoo artist either – this is for the position of chief tattoo officer. Talk about making your mark.
“This is an exciting initiative for all of us here at Philadelphia Union as we look to provide a revolutionary service for our players and front office, particularly those new to the area,” hooted Doug Vosik, the Union’s vice president of marketing.
“Our hiring process begins immediately; we are looking for a partner with a wide variety of talents and skills, and someone who can offer a broad range including American traditional, as well as Japanese, realism, new school and more.”
We’re not sure what’s weirder – the idea of a football club hiring a tattoo artist, or an MLS side in Philadelphia having enough hard-core fans to warrant getting a tattoo in the first place.
