He may have missed out on a medal at the London Olympics, but javelin champion Bryan Clay wins gold every time when it comes to acceptable forms of child abuse.
The big-armed dad of one, who won gold at the 2008 Olympics and silver the year before that, went viral last month after posting a video of himself helping to dislodge his daughter’s loose tooth – by tying it to a javelin and hurling it skywards. That should do the trick… although it would have been interesting if he’d got the wrong tooth.
When asked on Twitter whether the pair had denied the tooth fairy a night’s work, the 35-year-old was quick to offer reassurance, ‘Oh no, don’t worry, the tooth is safely under her pillow!’
Whether the fairy exchanges the tooth for gold, silver or bitter tears from broken Olympic dreams remains to be seen.
