Euro 2012 Matchday 1For all of you wondering about the photo, sadly Cristiano Ronaldo did not cry, but he changed his hair other both halves with one half slick and the other an annoying Mohawk. But this is euro 2012 football update not fashion, even if it was just as bad as the Portuguese match. Mario Gomez scored the only goal of the game as Germany dominated Portugal, with Ronaldo failing to fire (not just off the pitch) and goal-line technology came back into the equation as Pepe of Portugal had a shot bounce off the line, but the linesman would’ve been blind to not have seen it wasn’t over.

Over in the more exciting game in group B, the Dutch suffered a massive blow as Michael krohn-Dehli, the indian sounding Dane, scored the only goal of the game to send the favourites to a surprised opening defeat. With Holland mastering over 25 shots on goal, compared to the single figure amount of Denmark, Dutch coach Bert Van Marwijk will be furious that hotshot Robin Van Persie and Klass Jan Huntelaar, with over 60 goals between them this season, failed to find the net.

So come on Ireland and Spain, over to you on Sunday.
