Melbourne Cup Day is almost upon us again – the day when Australia’s chronic gambling and drinking problems are celebrated across the nation. Huzzahs!
So be a “true blue” Aussie and head down to the bookies to put your lifesavings on top nags like Buggery Boy, Paxman’s Foreskin or She’s Got The Painters In – and if you live in NSW, make sure you do it soon as Mike Baird continues his quest to outlaw all forms of gambling that don’t involve casinos or the Packer family.
This year’s race is being held on November 1st and apparently Wicklow Brave and Order of St George are two of the favourites – so if your Irish or English, it’s a safe bet to guess which one you’re going to put your money on.
