A New Zealand commentator fell victim to the cricket equivalent of tea-bagging last month when his car was hit by a cricket ball while he was on air.
The incident occurred as ex-New Zealand wicket keeper Ian Smith described Jesse Ryder’s shot during a Georgie Pie Super Smash match recently.
After praising Ryder for smashing the ball over the boundary for a six, Smith suddenly realized the shot had bounced onto his car.
“That’s out of the ground, that’s gone, it’s downtown,” Smith said before the penny dropped.
“It’s on my car! It is! I think it hit my car! I don’t believe it! Oh, the downside of getting to park so close.”
