Basketball is the Philippines has a different spin
Basketball is hugely popular in the Philippines and advertisers know it. Instead of teams being names after the area they represent, the team names are effectively billboards.
Last year one of the teams went by the name Kia Carnival having previously gone by  Kia Sorento.  Other teams names have included the Purefoods Tender JuicyHotdogs, the Pepsi Mega Bottlers and the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters.
Check out the Philippine Basketball Association, the names just get better and better.
